Transport services in Argyll and Bute are starting to get back to normal as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.
Argyll and Bute Council says transit berth facilities at Oban North Pier are now open and capacity on council-run ferries will be increased to meet community demand and guidelines on physical distancing.
The council’s Oban and the Isles airports will reopen for scheduled flights, commercial charters and private pilots on Wednesday and flights from Oban to Coll, Colonsay and Tiree, through service operator Hebridean Air Services, will be available.
Passengers are advised not to travel, or go to airports, if they feel unwell or suspect they have any symptoms associated with Covid-19.
They should also wear a face covering when in any of the buildings, ensure they maintain physical distancing, wash their hands and avoid contact with surfaces.
Bus services are also expected to return to normal services from Wednesday.
Councillor Robin Currie, the council’s policy lead for housing, roads and infrastructure services, said: “The Scottish Government’s roadmap to easing lockdown restrictions is leading us to a new normal.
“Getting our transport networks back to regular timetables will support our residents and visitors to get around more freely and help our businesses open up.
“We must not be complacent at this time.
“Now, more than ever, we must pay attention to guidance that will keep everyone safe: wearing face coverings when appropriate, maintaining good hand hygiene and avoiding crowded areas.”
