A female has this afternoon been winched to safety after falling into a gully near Holborn Head.
The incident, reported to the coastguard at 3.30pm this afternoon, demanded the attention of Scrabster, Wick and Duncansby coastguard teams alongside Rescue 151, the coastguard helicopter based in Inverness.
The walker is believed to have fallen 20-foot into a gully at the picturesque spot.
The female, who is understood to have suffered leg injuries, was assisted by the coastguard teams onto the helicopter where she was transported to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for further treatment.
Police and the ambulance service were also in attendance with the helicopter touching down in Inverness around 6pm.
Holborn Head is popular with walkers seeking to capture a glimpse of the rugged Caithness coastline, with views spanning over Thurso and Orkney.
