Image: Sandy McCook/ DC Thomson. Search teams were tasked earlier today after concern was raised for a group of kayakers off the Melvich coastline. A member of the public logged their concern for the paddlers after witnessing rough seas around 1.10pm. Thurso lifeboat launched alongside Melvich, Scrabster and Duncansby coastguard teams as searchers sought to trace the kayakers. After a lengthy search, the kayakers were located and found to be safe and well. Search teams stood down shortly after with the incident concluding around 4pm.
