A police helicopter has today been drafted in to assist with searches for a missing 34-year-old man on Loch Ness.

Lukasz Keska was reported missing on July 9, nearly one month ago, after he fell into the stretch of water from a vessel.

It is understood a friend of Mr Keska dived into the freezing waters to try to save him before requiring rescue.

They were two of a party of four Polish nationals who had gone to enjoy a day sailing from the yacht’s berth on Dores beach, nine miles from Inverness.

Searches thus far, which have included specialist divers, have been unable to locate the missing man.

Today the air support unit from Police Scotland has been drafted in to assist in efforts.

Chief Inspector Mairi Macinnes, local area commander for Inverness, said: “Police Scotland continue the search to find missing man Lukasz Keska, 34, who fell into Loch Ness on July 9, 2020.

“Officers are continuing searches, assisted by the air support unit.”

She confirmed Mr Keska’s next of kin are being kept informed of any developments with officers providing support.
