Nominations are being invited for a vacant seat on Argyll and Bute Council in Oban.
SNP councillor Louise Glen-Lee, who represented the Oban North and Lorn ward, resigned for personal reasons last month.
If the election is contested, the by-election will now take place on Thursday July 17.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the council’s offices in Kilmory, Lochgilphead.
Candidates must have submitted their completed forms to the council’s election office by 4pm on Monday June 16.
It will be the second by-election for Argyll and Bute Council within two months.
Earlier this month, Neil MacIntyre was elected to represent the Oban South and the Isles ward.
Mr MacIntyre is the first Labour councillor in Argyll and Bute for 14 years.
He was elected after a by-election was triggered when former SNP councillor Fred Hall stood down after leaving his party over disagreements with its justice policies.
Mr Hall had stated his intention to re-stand as an independent councillor, but decided not to.
Mr MacIntyre, Oban’s newest councillor, worked for Tesco and was an active member of Oban Community Council.
