Two shops in Badenoch have been given a warning after selling alcohol to an underage buyer.
The shops failed to ask for identification from a youngster working undercover as part of a police test purchasing operation in the Badenoch and Strathspey and the Skye and Lochalsh areas.
Another 15 shops passed the test, which took place on Friday May 23, and the two premises which failed will be re-tested.
However a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal if they fail again.
A police spokesman said: “Police are delighted that those premises who passed during the operation challenged the young person for identification and refused to serve alcohol when asked. Of these premises staff were vigilant and were appropriately trained to challenge the youth.”
