Police are appealing for information following a head-on collision between two motorcyclists in Sutherland.
The incident, involving two BMW R1200s, happened on the A894 near Duartmore, north of Kylestrome at 12.10pm on Saturday afternoon.
A 49-year-old man was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following the incident. His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
The 47-year-old male rider of the other motorcycle was uninjured.
The road was closed for around four hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Sergeant David Miller of Highland and Islands road policing said: “We are carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances leading to this collision.
“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.”
