Police in Wick are treating an attack on a teenager as attempted murder – and have arrested four people.
Three men and a woman have been taken into custody in connection with the incident where a 17-year-old has been taken to hospital in Aberdeen.
Police were called to Macrae Street in Wick at around 11pm on Thursday and cordoned off the area as inquiries were carried out.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police inquiries are continuing following the attempted murder of a 17-year-old man in Macrae Street, Wick, around 11pm on Thursday, August 20.
“The injured man was taken by ambulance to Caithness General Hospital then later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for his injuries.
“Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
“Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the local area and three men aged 18, 24 and 31 years and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with this incident.”
