A 25-year-old man has been taken to hospital after falling down cliffs in Shetland. Emergency services were called to the cliffs near Knab/Breiwick Road in Lerwick shortly before 2pm following growing concerns for a person. Lerwick lifeboat was tasked to the coastline to rescue the casualty before bringing him back to the shore for further medical attention. The male casualty to the Gilbert Bain hospital by ambulance a short time later where his condition remains unknown. A police spokesman said: “Emergency Services were in attendance at the Breiwick Road area in Lerwick following reports of concern for a person.” Coastguard teams from Lerwick and Sumburgh were also on hand to assist alongside paramedics from the ambulance service.
