A Highland pensioner has appeared in court facing charges of exposing himself on a popular beach stretching back a decade.
Robert Ross, of Merryton Crescent in Nairn, denied the offences when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court.
The 78-year-old is accused of exposing himself on the town’s East Beach several times dating back to 2010.
Appering before Sheriff Sara Matheson, the septuagenarian pleaded not guilty to an alleged offence of public indecency on September 10, 2010 when he was said to have exposed himself to a couple.
He also denied that on April 17, 2019, he exposed himself to a man and a woman and pleaded not guilty to performing a sex act in front of another couple at the same location on June 25, 2020.
A fourth charge alleges that he exposed himself to two women on July 8, 2020.
An intermediate diet, which establishes prosecution and defence readiness for trial, was fixed for March 16 next year with trial on April 12.
Ross was released on bail but banned from going near Nairn’s East Beach.
The court appearance follows a police appeal after reports of a man indecently exposing himself there.
