A man has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A82 involving a car and a truck.
The incident happened just before 10am today on the A82 south of Fort William.
Transport Scotland said the crash at Heron Bay is “serious” and people should use an alternative route in the meantime.
UPDATE:
The road remains shut in both directions.
As a result of the road closure, the A861 has become heavily congested.
A 161-mile diversion is currently in place, with northbound traffic having access to the Corran Ferry.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called around 9.45am on Thursday, September 3, 2020 following the report of a two-vehicle road crash involving a car and a truck on the A82 southbound near Fort William.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed in both directions.
“A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
