The 39-year-old was last seen on Inverlochy Place in Kinlochleven, near the Salvation Army Hall, at 8.45pm on September 3. He had travelled by bus from Kinlochleven to Fort William the day before but did not attend work, which police said was “out of character”. His body was later found in the river. The death is not being treated as suspicious. Mr Groundwater’s family have been made aware. Detective Sergeant Andy Bilton said: “Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this sad and difficult time. “Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal for information and assisted with inquiries.”
