An Easter Ross man has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court facing a total of 10 charges, including abduction with assault to injury and danger of life and several road traffic offences.
The locus between Foulis and Evanton led to the road being closed on Monday.
Derek Mackay, aged 36, was classed as being of no fixed abode.
He made no plea to all the charges, which also included malicious damage, threatening behaviour, possession of drugs, forcible entry to a house and assault to injury.
The road traffic allegations were dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance.
Mackay was committed for further examination and he was remanded in custody.
