A RNLI crew were deployed after three women became stranded on an island off Arisaig in the Highlands. The women were cut off by the tide whilst exploring Traigh beach yesterday evening. A lifeboat crew from Mallaig rescued the trio and took them back to shore. A spokeswoman said: “We were informed that three people had become stranded on an island at Traigh beach at around 6.30pm on Saturday. “A crew from the Mallaig RNLI lifeboat team was sent to retrieve the women and bring them back to shore.”
