A creel boat, Channel Hound, suffered engine problems in the Firth of Lorn, to the west of the Garvellach Islands at around 1pm. A local fishing vessel, Porpoise, stood by while Oban Lifeboat made its way to the area. The lifeboat then towed the vessel, with two people on board, to Easdale Island, arriving after 3.30pm. Meanwhile Lochinver Lifeboat rescued a 32ft ketch off Stoerhead. The yacht Petra broke down at around 2.35pm. With little wind, the vessel was left drifting in the area. A spokeswoman for Stornoway Coastguard said the ketch, with one person on board, had been sailing from Ullapool to Kinlochbervie. The lifeboat towed it to Lochinver.
