David Kudr, 20, of 2 Shore Street, Main Street, Tobermory, appeared at Oban Sheriff Court. He pleaded guilty to stealing the Goretex jacket, worth £350, from Outside Edge, MacGregor Court, on May 14. Police found the jacket in Kudr’s rucksack, where they also found a Swiss Army Knife. Kudr, from the Czech Republic, told the court he had planned to go camping and didn’t realise it was illegal to carry a knife in this country. He pleaded guilty to possessing a knife and was admonished.
