A Ross-shire sports facility is to reopen next month boasting a Covid-19 safe pool.
The Puffin hydrotherapy Pool in Dingwall has remained closed since the start of lockdown.
The pool, which is run by a registered charity, provides physiotherapy for adults and children with painful or disabling conditions.
The facility, which lies adjacent to the Highland Rheumatology Unit (HRU), is to open to registered patients of the unit on November 2.
It will then be opened to private groups the following week.
Pool user Kyrie James said: “I am most grateful to the Puffin Pool staff and charity for all their hard work in getting the pool ready for a safe opening.
“The Puffin pool has been sorely missed during the acute stage of Covid-19.”
The number of weekly sessions has been reduced from 68 to 48 to enable staff to carry out the necessary cleaning, with five individuals and their carers able to use the pool at any one time.
Michelle Stevenson, patient representative from HRU, said: “Patients not being able to attend the pool has affected both their physical and mental health. Some have put off admission to HRU purely because the pool is an extremely vital part of their treatment plan.”
