The gun was reported missing from a locked van on farmland in Wester Arboll, Balintore. Two fishing rods were also taken. The theft is believed to have occurred between 11am and 12.35pm on Monday, June 9. The police spokesman said they would like to reassure the public that a dedicated team of officers is investigating the theft. Earlier this year two double-barreled shotguns were stolen from a house in the Fortrose area of the Black Isle. The guns taken in February have not yet been recovered. Police are not linking the incidents. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers.
