Oban Pipe Band has been given cash support of £2,000 from the Scottish Sea Farms Heart of the Community Trust.
This cash boost will help take the historic pipe band to eight championship meetings over the summer.
Members of the 90 year old band represent Oban and district in competitions and performances across the UK.
Band president Arthur Gillies said: “We have now had support from Scottish Sea Farms since 2012 and it is really appreciated as, without it, the band would be unable to take part in four major and four smaller competitions. We have had a lot of success in recent years which brings publicity and recognition for the Oban and Lorn area and we are all really looking forward to this summer.”
The currently has 30 members.
Jim Gallagher, managing director, Scottish Sea Farms, said: “The summer championships are always exciting and the community all want to know how the band has got on. The pipers give the whole area something to be proud of and we are delighted to be able to help them go on to further success.”
