The Cairngorm mountain railway will be closed for five days from Sunday for vital repairs.
The 15 tonne carriages will be lifted off the track to allow replacement of their bogies.
The Ptarmigan restaurant, which includes the top railway station, will also be closed for the duration of the maintenance period.
However the resort’s other facilities will be available, including the Mountain Shop and Cas Bar in the Day Lodge will remain open during the works and toilets will be available.
The closure also coincides with the inaugural CairnGorm Mountain Walking Festival, which runs from June 23-27.
The ticket office will also be open as the starting point for the programme of guided walks.
These include hill walks Ben Macdui, the Shelter Stone and Cairn Lochan. All the walks are bookable online.
Natural Retreats UK, a luxury travel firm which runs self-catering holiday cottages in John O’Groats, Caithness and Tulloch, Lochaber, officially took over operations at the mountain area last week.
