Police have been made aware of bogus workmen in the Culloden area.
Officers from the Inverness community policing team are urging the public to be cautious of door-to-door traders.
Inspector Ali Garrow said: “I urge people to treat door to door traders with caution.
“Should you need any household or gardening work carried out, research local businesses as they will provide a professional service, likely at a lower price.
“Also remain cautious of any companies who will only deal in cash.
“The vast majority of genuine companies will deal with bank transfers and should there subsequently be any issue, it may be easier for the customers to commence a line of complaint.
“Anyone with any information or concern in relation to bogus workmen in their area is encouraged to contact police.”
Police can be contacted by phone on 101 or via the Police Scotland website.
Anonymous reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, using reference PS20201027-0569.
