A Dingwall vet has been fined after admitting speeding as he tried to get back to his clinic to deliver a blood sample.
James Fraser, 54, of Heights of Fodderty, Strathpeffer drove at 87mph in a 60mph limit on the A832 between Achnasheen and Garve at Achanalt.
Defence agent Alison Foggo told the court that Fraser, who is a partner in Fraser & Fraser vets in Dingwall, was returning from collecting a blood sample for a sick pony in Gairloch.
The blood sample needed to be returned quickly to Dingwall so it could be then transferred to a laboratory in Edinburgh.
She said that her client had then been called to another job on the west coast and felt “pressurised” to return the sample on time.
Fraser, who was not present in court, was fined £125.
