A local government watchdog which previously criticised Argyll and Bute Council about a lack of strong leadership will next week state how it wishes the council to proceed.
The Accounts Commission criticised the relationship between elected members and management at the council, saying that political instability had resulted in a lack of “collective strategic leadership” by councillors.
A follow up audit report was undertaken by Audit Scotland in April and May this year, and was considered by the Accounts Commission at its meeting on June 19.
At a full meeting of Argyll and Bute Council today, chief executive Sally Loudon said the Accounts Commission will publish its findings on what should happen next with the council on July 3.
