A climber has died after falling more than 600ft in the Cairngorms.
The man was with a friend climbing in the Glen Einich area when the incident happened earlier.
His companion scrambled down the slope to reach him and then contacted police.
He then ran out of the hills to seek more help.
A helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth was sent to the scene and airlifted the man to the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team was on put on standby in case the poor weather in the area prevented the helicopter from reaching the scene.
Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team leader Willie Anderson said that members of the team also picked up the second man, who was said to be in shock.
