A mental health nurse accused of having an “inappropriate” relationship with a “vulnerable” patient will face a hearing at the end of the month.
Margo Neilly is also alleged to have conned patients into thinking she was still employed by NHS Highland – almost two years after she was sacked from Fort William Health Centre.
Ms Neilly will face the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on July 28 to answer a catalogue of allegations about her conduct after she was dismissed in January 2012.
The hearing will take place at the NMC’s headquarters in Edinburgh.
Ms Neilly faces a number of charges, including using inappropriate behaviour towards her former colleagues.
She is accused of swearing at two former colleagues and flicking water in their faces in a “provocative” manner.
She also allegedly turned up at the centre drunk and harassed an ex-colleague at home.
She is also accused of accessing restricted parts of the health centre while barred.
Ms Neilly’s misconduct is alleged to have occurred on several dates in 2012 and 2013.
She was accused of striking up an “inappropriate” relationship with a former patient – named only as Patient A.
The NMC has claimed she “exploited and abused” Patient A by using confidential information obtained about her and that the relationship “destabilised her recovery”.
The NMC believes Ms Neilly continued to abuse the fact that she once worked as a mental health nurse.
She is charged with telling another patient – referred to as Patient C – that she was still working at the health centre as of November last year.
The ex-nurse is further charged with inappropriately visiting a third vulnerable ex-patient in October 2013 in her home.
Ms Neilly was suspended from the nursing profession while investigations took place.
