Man freed from vehicle after bus and car collide on Highland road

A man had to be removed from a vehicle following a smash between a bus and a car on a Highland road this morning.
And two people have been taken to hospital following the crash on the A890 – at it’s junction with the A87 Bun Loyne to Kyle road – at Balmacarra, Kyle of Lochalsh at around 11.30am.
A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “We got a report of a road traffic collision at 11:41am at Balmacarra. There was somebody trapped.
“We used a tirfor and stabilisers to secure the car and release a male”.
It was said to have been a public transport bus that was involved.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said that two people were taken to Broadford Hospital, on the Isle of Skye, with minor injuries following the incident.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service deployed two appliances from Broadford and Kyle of Lochalsh to the scene, where they are said to have “removed” a person from one of the vehicles.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to the scene at 11.40am.
She said: “I don’t think it’s anything serious. There are no road closures.”
Police officers are said to be redirecting traffic around the vehicles.
