Police and the ambulance service attended a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A862 at Teawig, Beauly, shortly after midday that brought down a power line across the road.
The road, known locally as the “old A9,” is now closed between the Lovat Bridge junction with the A831 and Beauly Railway Station whilst the area is made safe.
It is estimated that the road will remain closed for the next three to five hours.
A diversion is in place via the A831 and unclassified Wester Balblair road through to Beauly town centre.
Access to the railway station from Beauly Town centre is not affected.
