The consultation deadline for finding a site for a new school campus in a Ross-shire town has been extended.
The deadline for discussing the proposed new 3 – 18 school campus in Tain, which will replace the existing Tain Royal Academy, Craighill and Knockbreck Primaries and St Duthus Special School, has been pushed back from last Friday to Friday, July 18.
The three options under consideration are the existing Tain Royal Academy site, the existing Craighill Primary School campus and a site at Kirksheaf.
Details of each of these site options are available on The Highland Council’s website at www.highland.gov.uk/tainschool.
The Council is consulting with those affected by the decision to amalgamate the schools on the best site for the proposed new school building and the public are invited to provide comments on the site options.
A report on the outcomes of the community engagement will be presented to the Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee on August 28.
Members of the public are invited to submit their comments via a discussion forum on the Council’s website at www.highland.gov.uk/tainschool, or by e-mail at ecsadmin@www.highland.gov.uk
Comments can also be written to Ron MacKenzie, Head of Resources, The Highland Council, Care and Learning Service, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness IV3 5NX.
