A retired Royal Navy officer has left thousands of pounds in his will to charities.
Captain Harry Robert Keate, of Kilchoan House, Kilmelford, near Oban in Argyll died on December 28 aged 88.
He made several donations from his £2,851,045.60 estate.
He has set aside £7,000 to be divided equally between seven charities: The Mission to Seafarers Scotland; The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help; Seafarers UK Scotland; Cancer Research UK Scotland; The Royal National Lifeboat Institution; Erskine – Caring for Ex Servicemen and Women; and Walking with the Wounded.
Captain Keate has left several monetary gifts to friends and family, with the remainder of his estate to go to his four children, David Keate, Angus Keate, Venetia Keate or Bateman and Iona Keate or Grieve.
