Crowds turned out to cheer on the baton bearers as the Queen’s Baton Relay completed its last day in the Highlands today.
It set off from Inverness in fine weather early this morning, heading for Drumnadrochit, Fort Augustus, Spean Bridge, Glenfinnan and finishing the day Fort William.
However, after days of glorious sunshine, the rain came in and baton bearers and the watching crowds had to brave the rain as it arrived in the Lochaber town on the Jacobite Express steam train from Glenfinnan.
Flag-waving crowds lined Fort William’s High Street cheering as the baton was carried through the town to the skirl of the pipes.
It had earlier visited the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge and Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness.
Tomorrow, it will leave Appin at 6.50am passing through Benderloch, Dunbeg and Oban on its way to Dunoon.
