A man was rescued after falling from a cliff near Thurso this morning.
Thurso lifeboat, Coastguard and ambulance personnel were summoned to the incident that happened about 3am at Victoria Walk, a coastal path.
The lifeboat was on scene within minutes of leaving Scrabster Harbour, and launched their small Y-boat along with three RNLI volunteer crew who went ashore to assist Coastguard and ambulance teams on rocks below the walk.
The man, aged about 40, was conscious and was transferred from the rocks in a stretcher to the lifeboat using the Y-boat, then taken to the lifeboat pontoon at Scrabster Harbour where he was removed to Caithness General Hospital by ambulance.
