The vessel, named the Nautilus, came into difficulties near Tayvallich, on the Kintyre peninsula, this morning at around 6.40am. The 10m yacht came close to drifting ashore, but the two people aboard managed to drop an anchor into the water before the lifeboat arrived. A Stornoway Coastguard spokesman said: “We were called at 6.40am and the Islay lifeboat was tasked about five minutes after that. “It was for a yacht that had got a fouled prop in remote anchorage just off Tayballich, Mull of Kintyre. “No one was injured, they managed to keep themselves off the rocks and the vessel is fine. They were quite close to drifting ashore.” The were towed to the Crinon Boat Yard by the life boat.
