One person died and two were seriously injured in a crash on Skye yesterday.
The two car accident happened on the A87 Kyle-Portree road, three miles south of Sconser at around 4.20pm.
Initial reports were that the two cars contained a total of four people – with three take to hospital seriously injured. However, one succumbed to their injuries overnight.
It is the third crash on the A87 since Friday afternoon.
Fire crews from Portree and Broadford attended the scene and one person had to be cut free from the wreckage.
The casualty was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by road ambulance to Broadford Hospital at about 5.15pm.
Police were unable to say whether the casualties were men or women and there were no further details of their injuries last night.
The main road was closed following the accident and diversions were provided via nearby Moll.
A young student was killed on Saturday evening after a one vehicle accident west of Invergarry.
The man was a front seat passenger in a Nissan Micra containing four people when it crashed five miles south of the Bun Loyne junction.
Police have yet to release the man’s name however he is understood to have been a student in Glasgow.
A woman who was a rear seat passenger suffered serious injuries and is in a stable condition in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
Two men, including the driver, had minor injuries and were treated at the Belford Hospital, Fort William.
Police said that a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
And on Friday evening, a woman suffered serious injuries when a minibus overturned on the A87 near the Cluanie Inn.
