Two men are to appear in court at Fort William tomorrow following thefts from cars and homes in the Lochaber town in the early hours of this morning.
And police are warning householders to check their property after a man was found leaving a home in the Glenlochy Road area and items were stolen from vehicles in Blar Mhor Road, Caol.
A police spokesman said they were contacted at around 2.45am by a woman living in the Glenlochy Road area reporting that there was a man in her home.
He said: “Officers attended at the address and a man was apprehended after being found leaving the rear of the property.
“A quantity of stolen property was recovered and the man was arrested.
“Residents of the Glenlochy Road area of Fort William are asked to check their respective houses and ensure that no items are missing.”
He added that a 41-year-old man would appear at Fort William Sheriff Court tomorrow in connection with this incident.
The spokesman said a member of the public also reported a man acting suspiciously on Blar Mhor Road at around 2am.
He said: “After inquiry, a man was arrested for allegedly stealing a large quantity of property from vehicles, which had been parked on Blar Mhor Road.
“Fort William police would urge all owners of cars in this area to check their vehicles and, if any property is found to be missing, contact the police.”
A 27-year-old man is to appear at the town’s sheriff court tomorrow following this incident.
