Police have named the motorcyclist who died in a collision with a camper van on the A9 Inverness-Thurso road last week.
Wouter Vrijkotte, 47, of the Netherlands, died at the scene of the crash at Borgue on Friday afternoon.
He was travelling south when his motorcycle collided with a camper van in which Italian tourists were travelling.
The three occupants of the van were checked by paramedics at the scene but were not injured.
A police spokesman said that Mr Vrijkotte’s grieving family did not wish to comment.
The A9 was closed for several hours for emergency services to attend and police to carry out their investigations.
The accident happened a few miles north of the notorious hairpin at Berriedale Braes.
The tragedy was the third fatal accident in the north in the space of a week.
Police have yet to name a German tourist who was killed on the A87 Portree-Broadford road at Sconser on July 28.
And young architecture student Owain Ramsay, 19, died when the car he was travelling in crashed on the same road between Kyle and Invergarry on Saturday.
