A road in Orkney was sealed off by police after an unexploded World War two grenade was found.
Back Road in Stromness was cordoned off on Tuesday afternoon following reports of ordnance being discovered.
But now police have confirmed that the item, believed to be an unexploded grenade, has been made safe, while thanking residents for their patience.

The ordnance was found near the Orkney Research and Innovation Campus and was taken to a beach to be detonated safely.
Road closures and diversions were in place in Stromness.
Writing on Twitter, police said: “Police can confirm that following a report of an unexploded ordinance in Stromness, Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) have attended and the item has been made safe.
“Thank you for your patience.”
An army spokesman confirmed that a team from Northern Diving Group in Faslane had been deployed to Stromness after a suspected grenade was found on a beach.
