A man and woman yesterday admitted hindering police who were searching for a missing 15-year-old girl.
Kevin Gillan, 26, of Dunstaffnage Cottage, Soroba House Mews, Oban, and Emma Gillan, 23, of 10c Miller Road, Oban, admitted the charge when they appeared at the town’s sheriff court yesterday.
Both pleaded guilty to resisting, obstructing or hindering two police officers in the execution of their duty on June 18 at Dunollie Cottage, Soroba House Mews.
Kevin Gillan admitted repeatedly informing officers that the girl was not in Dunollie Cottage, Oban, when he knew that she was there.
Emma Gillan admitted the same charge, but only on one occasion, not repeatedly.
Sheriff Douglas Small said: “This is a serious offence, I’m going to need reports.”
Sentence was deferred until September 16.
A plea of not guilty by both Gillans to a charge of knowingly harbouring or concealing the girl at Dunollie Cottage was accepted by the Crown.
