One man has died and another is critically injured after the light aircraft they were in crashed on a Scottish island.
The pair, aged 63 and 52, were airlifted to hospital after the crash, which happened near the airstrip at Kingarth on Isle of Bute on Saturday.
The older man died at the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow yesterday.
The other man, who was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, remains in a critical condition.
An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the accident, which happened at about 3.45pm.
A police spokeswoman appealed for anyone with video or mobile phone footage of the incident to get in touch to help officers and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) piece together what happened.
She said last night: “Sadly, the 63-year-old man died within hospital earlier this morning.
“Relatives are aware and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”Police Scotland continues to work closely with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch in relation to the incident.
“Officers working on the investigation are urging any witnesses to contact them and would like to obtain any video or mobile phone footage which may help with the ongoing inquiry.”
The pair have not been named.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said the Ministry of Defence assisted in transporting a medical team to the scene and the casualties were taken to hospital by the Helimed 5 air ambulance.
And a fire service spokesman said two appliances from Bute and a senior officer were at the scene.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
