It is thought up to 25,000 homes and businesses have been affected – with the worst hit in Western Isles, Skye and the west Highlands. Energy supplier Scottish and Southern Energy said on Twitter it was hoped power would be restored by 3pm #Powercut affecting the #RoyBridge & #Fortwilliam areas.
