A 132 tonne supergrid transformer will be edging along several Highland roads today and tomorrow.
The huge piece of machinery is being transported by Scottish Hydro Electric, under police escort, between Invergordon and Auchterawe substation, near Fort Augustus.
Some of the roads will be closed while the operation is carried out, with the slow journey starting from Invergordon at 8am today.
It will head for Beauly Quarry, via the Tore roundabout, arriving at noon and remaining there until midnight.
The first road closure will be the A833 between Kiltarlity and Culnakirk, from 1am to 5am, before the load makes its way to the A82 Inverness-Fort William road, joining at Drumnadrochit.
Another closure, the A82 between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus, will be in place from 6am till 8am as the convoy approaches its final stages.
This is off the A82 road into Jenkins Park, Fort Augustus, and onto Auchterawe where it is scheduled to arrive some time between 10am and noon.
There will be a rolling closure on the final leg before the transformer reaches the substation.
