Emergency services were called to the scene, near to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, at about 1.15pm. Two helicopters, one from the Ministry of Defence and an air ambulance, went to the scene. The man was flown to Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital, arriving there at about 3pm. Three fire units from Inveraray, Arrochar and Lochgilphead, were also called out but only the Arrochar crew attended. A spokesman from Cardonald ambulance HQ said: “It looks to be quite serious. “It’s still being dealt with at the moment. The crew were there with a helicopter and a second MoD helicopter was also called out.”
