A 92-year-old man has died in hospital after suffering a gunshot wound in an incident at Garve.
Andrew Allan had been in hospital since he was injured on Friday, July 25.
He was discovered by firefighters who had been called to an incident at a house belonging to Mr Allan’s son – also called Andrew.
It sparked a major police operation in the Ross-shire village with a double cordon set up around the house after a hand gun was discovered at the scene.
Mr Allan senior lived in a caravan just 500 yards from the property.
It is understood he and his son had been involved in a long-running family dispute.
Mr Allan sen was later arrested by police and a report on the incident was sent to the procurator fiscal.
However, it has now emerged that he died from his injuries.
Last night a police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 92-year-old man arrested in connection with a disturbance in Garve on Friday, July 25, has died whilst in Raigmore Hospital.”
