Emergency services were called to the scene at Main Street in Golspie, near the junction with Fountain Road, at 5.23am. Police, ambulance and fire service all attended the accident, as did staff from trunk road managers Bear Scotland. The motorcyclist, who is in his 40s, is said to have suffered injuries but they are not believed to be life-threatening. No other vehicle was involved. A spokesman for the police said that the casualty was “conscious and breathing” when emergency services arrived. He was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment. The road was closed while the accident was investigated with a diversion put in place. The A9 fully reopened at 7.45am.
