Yacht aground in Sound of Kerrera

Oban Lifeboat was called out today to help a yacht that went aground in the Sound of Kerrera.

However, while the volunteers were on they way, the crew of the vessel managed to refloat it and made their own way to Oban Marina.

The lifeboat team met the yacht there and discovered it was taking on water as a result of damage caused when it grounded.

All lifeboats carry salvage pumps so the crew helped to deal with the immediate problem and the yacht will be lifted out later today for repairs.
