More than 600 competitors took part in the Craggy Island Triathlon on the isle of Kerrera at the weekend.
The event, which was held on Saturday and Sunday, involving a swim from Gallanach slipway at Oban to Kerrera, a six mile cycle around the island and a run to its highest peak before the finish at Gylen Castle.
Oban Mountain Rescue Team will benefit from an estimated £5,000 that was raised.
The Scottish Off Road Triathlon Championships title was won by Rory Downie of Edinburgh, with Caroline Wallace from Peebles taking the women’s prize.
Organiser Paul McGreal said: “It was extremely successful, the sun shone for us all weekend and there were lots of smiley faces.
“We are still counting the money raised but I wouldn’t be surprised if it has raised in the order of £5,000.
“It was a great atmosphere on the island, and we will be back for more next year.”
