Kyle RNLI lifeboat is preparing for its biggest fundraiser of the year.
The Kyle Lifeboat Station Maritime Day takes place on Saturday September 6 from 11am-4pm.
There will be demonstrations by lifeboats from Kyle and Portree and Kyle fire and rescue team. The British Underwater Testing and Evaluation Centre will also be present and will allow the public access to some of its boats.
The Coastguard, police and a vintage Watson class lifeboat will be there during the day as well as the Lochalsh Junior Pipe Band.
Weather permitting, the local kayaking club will get people out on the water. Onshore, there will be a fish filleting demonstration, an obstacle race, face painting, rope throwing, knot tying and much more!
Kyle Lifeboat’s sea safety officer will be on hand to check the condition of people’s lifejackets if they would like to bring them along.
The day will be rounded off with the local fire crew’s annual raft race at 5pm.
