The man was hurt during a walk in the Triple Buttresses area of Beinn Eighe in Torridon. He and his companion raised the alarm by mobile phone at around 2.30pm and police called out Torridon Mountain Rescue Team. They were airlifted into the area by a search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth. The injured man was winched on board and taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. There is no information about the man’s injuries at present. Mountain rescuers were last night leading the man’s companion down from the mountain.
