The Invergordon team were called out by Aberdeen Coastguard just after 6.40am to deal with a vehicle that was “in distress”. The Land Rover was submerged in water up to its windscreen by the time the RNLI volunteers arrived at the scene. One person was inside the vehicle, which had got into trouble near Invergordon Sailing Club. Crew members prepared an inflatable “daughter” craft from the Trent Class lifeboat to bring the person to safety. An ambulance service crew that were called to the scene undertook a full medical examination, but the person involved was not hurt. The Land Rover was towed back to the safety of the sailing club car park.
