The two vehicle crash happened on the A862 road between Beauly and Muir of Ord, shortly before the 999 call was made at 5.24pm. The lone driver of one car was taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. One fire appliance from Beauly and two from Inverness were also called to the scene but no cutting equipment was required. An ambulance spokesman said: “The person is not thought to have life threatening injuries but was taken to Raigmore Hospital.” A police spokesman said that the road was initially closed and then opened to one lane, before being fully reopened after about one hour.
