The 41-year-old died after being involved in the accident at Berriedale Braes on the Inverness-Thurso road. No other vehicles other than the HGV were involved in the incident which happened at around 11.18pm. Police have confirmed that the man’s next of kin have been informed of the matter, but his identity has not been made public. The road was closed for several hours as a result of the collision and has subsequently been opened to one lane with traffic lights in place.
